Training
It is the responsibility of individual agencies to ensure that their staff are appropriately trained in safeguarding. Information on training can be found in Chapter 4 of Working Together 2010. Training can be divided into single agency (organised by your own agency) or multi agency (organised by the LSCB and open to all)
The Berkshire West LSCB Training group produces an annual programme of training events which are open to all practitioners, volunteers and people who work with children within our area. We also arrange an annual conference, this year the focus was Family First : A Shared Responsibility. The conference brochure and power points from the workshops are available to download from the Conference 2012 page.
A FREE e learning training course is available to be used as a refresher or an introduction to safeguarding. To access this please go to the 'Safeguarding Children - e learning refresher course' page.
People who work with children should ensure they have the appropriate training and skills to work with children and young people and that training is refreshed every three years.
