WB LSCB Learning Zone
West Berkshire Local Safeguarding Children Board (WB LSCB) is committed to ensuring that the wider children’s workforce is operating in an environment where learning and improvement underpins its work to improve outcomes with children and their families.
LSCB’s have a duty to ensure that there is appropriate training in place for persons who work with children or in services affecting the safety and welfare of children (Working Together 2015).
WB LSCB multi-agency training is supported by the West of Berkshire comprehensive training programme and themed learning seminars are held throughout the year.
All West of Berkshire LSCB learning is centred around the WB LSCB Learning and Improvement Framework. Learning is drawn from a range of sources and all WB LSCB member organisations have an obligation to provide WB LSCBs with relevant, detailed and up to date information:
The WB LSCB Learning and Improvement framework is designed to underpin and facilitate the development of a culture of continuous improvement across the whole children’s safeguarding system in West of Berkshire.
Its ethos is :
- an approach which is reflective, open to challenge (and self-challenge), adaptable, proportionate and timely;
- an outcomes based accountability methodology which asks:
- how much did we do?
- how well did we do it?
- what difference did it make to outcomes for Children & Young People?
